The NCBTMB has sent out a press release stating that Leena Guptha - TopicsExpress

The NCBTMB has sent out a press release stating that Leena Guptha has appointed Michael McGillicuddy to the BOD of the NCBTMB. I am hoping that is a typo as their bylaws do not allow her to personally appoint anyone. That is the function of the entire BOD. I have left a message for the CEO to call me to clarify that because that is the kind of thing that disturbs me---an organization that ignores their own bylaws. Bruce Baltz has been elected as the Chair-Elect. I consider both of them to be people of integrity, although I do not always agree with them, and I do feel confident that they will always answer my questions. I will still and forever maintain that Dr. Stuart Watts should have been a candidate in the therapist member category and not the public member, and there is nothing they can ever say that will change my mind about that. I do hear that he had stated if he won that he would give up his position as the treasurer of another national organization--it is a clear violation of their bylaws that he was put forth with that being the case. A public member is not supposed to be an expert in the field...they are supposed to represent the consumers point of view. It stank like yesterdays fish when they put it out there and it still does. Nothing personal against Dr. Watts, whom I do not know personally. Teresa Taglione-Matthews, whom I have also met, is the other new member and a long-standing member of the profession. Good luck to all of them; theyre going to need it.
