The NTRC’s i2 Competition Preliminary Judging Events The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC), alongside its partners the National Insurance Services (NIS), the Searchlight Newspaper, the Ministry of Education, Center for Enterprise Development (CED), Toastmasters Organization, Hot 97 radio station and the SVG Broadcasting Corporation is hosting its second annual Idea and Innovation Competition known as the i2 Competition. We hope to encourage students from various Secondary, Technical and Tertiary level institutes including the medical colleges from across the state to put forward ideas that can implement new systems or improve existing systems in the current departments within the Public Service of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and other state agencies that provide services to the public. Such improvements can lead to cost savings or result in the faster delivery of such service. The Competition officially began on Thursday 11th November 2014 and has progressed past registration and is now into its preliminary judging stages. Therefore, the NTRC is formally inviting your media house to cover these important events given the potential benefits of this competition to our younger generation, the government, and the public sector systems and by extension the overall societal functioning. In the preliminary rounds, there will be presentations from a number of secondary schools each with several group entries. The students’ presentations promise to be of much substance, interactivity and meaningful engagement.
