The Nairobi City County has officially launched the Transport & Urban De-congestion Committee that will collect views from the public on how to ease congestion in the city and hand in an interim report in 60 days. The committee comprising of stakeholders from public sectors such as the Matatu Owners Association, Matatu Welfare Association, Representatives of Nairobi residents as well the private sector and security experts will among other things review all existing termini to create a vibrant, safe, secure and reliable transport system. We remain committed towards improving the other forms of public transportation and to this end we have already operationalized 2 of the 30 railways stations we intend to open in the city to provide alternative means of transport to residents. I encourage you all to utilize these other forms on transport as we work towards improving our transport infrastructure in Nairobi.
