The Name that Saves Read Acts 4:12 When Peter makes this - TopicsExpress

The Name that Saves Read Acts 4:12 When Peter makes this statement, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name…..” (Acts 4:12) he was referring to the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10). The name represents a person and that person, Jesus Christ, is the only one who can save anyone. It is not Jesus and______, it is just Jesus. There is no one else who can save us from our sin. Jesus himself said, “I am the way…” (John 14:6). He is not “a” way, He is “the” way. I know that is an offensive statement in our pluralistic society, but that is Bible, the truth (John 17:17).It is a mockery to say that there are many ways to be saved. All roads do not lead to Jesus and each of us will have to give an account of what we do with Jesus. Do we trust Him and Obey Him (Hebrews 5:8-9) or just give Him lip service? In Acts 4:12, we have a verse that deals with the facts. Deals with sin and salvation. It is a pretty simple verse to understand. Since Jesus has all authority (Matthew 28:18) and He is the only way of salvation, we have a choice. Do we follow him and His will for our lives, or do we reject Him? --Rob Albright, Lake Norman church of Christ
