The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued an * Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Escambia County in northwest Florida... Okaloosa County in northwest Florida... Santa Rosa County in northwest Florida... southern Baldwin County in southwest Alabama... southern Mobile County in southwest Alabama... * until 1215 PM CDT * at 915 am CDT...areas of showers and thunderstorms are slowly moving across coastal portions of Alabama and northwest Florida. These storms are producing 1 to 2 inch hourly rainfall totals with localized areas seeing totals as high as 3 inches per hour. Given the recent heavy rains...this additional rainfall will likely result in minor flooding of poor drainage and low lying areas and ponding of water on roadways. The area will also be monitored for potential flash flood warnings. * Locations impacted include... Pensacola... Dauphin Island... Fairhope... Gulf Shores... Crestview... midway... Destin... Fort Walton Beach... Pine Level... Precautionary/preparedness actions... Excessive rainfall runoff will cause small creeks to rise. Ponding of water at normal low water crossings in rural areas can be expected. Urban areas will also experience minor flooding of poor drainage and low lying areas.
