The Nature Center is seeking board members for the new year (especially women) with a passion for education and/or connections to the business community. As per our 2011 adopted bylaws: members of the Board may nominate candidates to the Board. Also, any member of the Chico Creek Nature Center in good standing (dues paying or life member) can run as a candidate for the board. All candidates need to read our mission statement and know what we stand for. You also need to know that this is a volunteer position. In addition, board members are expected to: - attend monthly meetings (typically on the third Wednesday of each month between 6:00pm and 7:30pm), - get involved and regularly attend one or more of The Center’s standing committees, - help with Nature Center fundraiser events, - attend special meetings as needed, - work with other board members find a niche job or role that helps further nature center interests. While everyone’s involvement is different, an engaged board member should be willing to commit a minimum 12 - 15 hours per month to the center for the two year term of service.
