The New Mumbai International Airport ARRIVAL Walk from aircraft to immigration counter is BLoooooooDDeeeee LoooooooooooNGNGNGNG ! I arrived yesterday from abroad into the new airport terminal for the first time. I began walking with some luggage. For every moving platform, there is three-to-four times more to walk on your own feet with no moving platform. People with heavy luggage please note. Walking...walking....walking..and walking but not reaching anywhere. Hardly any signboards. First timers will keep wondering ki WTF are we going? Even the very few signboards which exist are very small and trying to hide rather than be visible. The total walk to the immigration counter feels about 0ne km. The aircraft is about 1.62 km from the Luggage Claim belt. It took 45 minutes for my luggage to arrive on the belt yesterday. Customs was very quick. Nobody buys anything abroad anyway. Everything is cheaper in India. Somebody was coming to pick me up. I had to tell him where to pick me up. Again the same problem about signboards. Too few, too small and too vague and very inconveniently lokated. Luckily there were people whom I asked and they told me.
