The Pac they belong to Cabarrus Jobs Now is supported by Brutons Smiths Speedway. They were their largest contributor 15,000.00 in 2012. Alex Rankin a local prominent Democrat is the Pacs co-founder along with Diane Honeycutt who is running for county commissioner. Grace Mynatts Ben Mynatt Chevrolet is also a sizeable contributor to this Pac. Mr Rankin was caught in 2010 attempting to persuade a county commissioner( Jay White) at this pacs secret meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Concord to fire then county mgr John Day because he didnt secure the 200 million dollars in bonds for infrastructure in David Murdocks research campus. All of this was reported in the Salisbury Post first then reluctantly by the Independent Tribune last. Allegedly most in that secret group who they call Cabarrus Jobs Now stand to benefit from any construction or associated companies in building of county buildings namely schools here in Cabarrus. That is why there is a big push by this group and its candidates in advocating building these schools 3 or 4 at a time instead of one year at a time or pay as you go as advocated by the present commissioner candidates Burrage Measmer & Oesterriech thus relieving the tax burden on the Cabarrus taxpayer and reducing the debt. But now scare tactics are being used once again by the county mgr & deputy county mgr in threatening to cut services to Senior citizens and the library.But to answer your question ..yes they are dems in a sense. THey advocated democrats in this county to change to Republican or unafilliated so they could vote in the Republican primary on May 6th against the current county commissioners that are running for re-election...Burrage Oesterriech & Measmer.
