The Posse Foundation’s Veterans Posse Program looks to identify - TopicsExpress

The Posse Foundation’s Veterans Posse Program looks to identify and support veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are interested in pursuing bachelor’s degrees at top colleges and universities across the country. By creating cohorts of veterans, preparing them for the college experience, and supporting them through graduation, the program greatly increases veterans’ success in college and positions them for leadership roles in the workforce. As participants in the Veterans Posse Program, qualifying veterans will attend a top-tier four-year college as part of a team—a Posse—of 10 veterans and will receive support prior to matriculating on campus and mentoring once enrolled. Posse’s Career Program provides additional resources to Scholars throughout college. The Career Program supports Scholars as they transition from being leaders on campus to being leaders in the workforce. Posse plays an integral role in the professional development of Scholars by providing them with the tools and opportunities necessary to secure highly competitive career-enhancing internships and jobs. This fall, 10 veterans will be selected to become part of the second group to matriculate at Vassar College in the fall of 2014. Vassar will supplement available GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon funding to guarantee full tuition for every veteran student selected. Visit possefoundation.org.
