The Post Falls Police Department has established an Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) Reserve Unit and is recruiting to fill several of the volunteer positions with applicants who meet the high ethical, moral, and professional standards set forth by the department. ECO Reserves will supplement and assist ECOs in their duties to maintain a high standard of customer service and officer safety. As part of the Communications Division, ECOs are a vital link between citizens and resources 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are responsible for all 9-1-1 and business calls that the Post Falls and Rathdrum Police Department receives. In addition, they perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. All ECO Reserve applicants shall be required to meet and pass the same pre-employment background investigation procedures as regular ECOs before appointment. Once selected for the ECO Reserve Unit, the officer will follow our Communications Training Program. Once trained, ECO Reserves will be assigned to work independently on shift with a Senior ECO for a minimum of 20 hours per month unless otherwise approved by the Communications Director or Chief of Police. Applications are available at the Post Falls Police Department, 1717 E. Polston Avenue or online at postfallspolice Click on Administrative Services and go to Dispatch/Communicatins If you have any questions, let us know. LLS
