The Prince of Asturias Foundation is to organize the 1ST “Big apple” fun run to mark the conferral of the 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for sports on the New York City Marathon. The race will be held in Gijon at 11:00am on Saturday 25th October, with the participation of renowned athletes. Registration will be open between 6th and 22nd October, or until completing the quota of 3,000 registered runners, via Gijón Municipal Sports Board’s website (deporte.gijon.es). Participants can pick up their numbers on 23rd and 24th October −between 5pm and 9pm− and on 25th −from 9am to half an hour before the start of the race− in the main entrance hall to the Gijón International Exhibition Grounds (FIDMA), located on Paseo del Doctor Fleming.
