The Problem With My Profession¤ *Environmental Health* An adage says if someone has misunderstandin g with his family and doesnt find a way to ameliorate it, and ran to another family, he will be debased by both families this is the main problem of Environmental Health. For so many years ago my profession was under ministry of health ( federal, state and local) we were in practical part of medical team, but because of health politics between medical doctors and EHO, we ran to ministry of Environment, negleting the fact that we are health officers and not Environmentalis t, am not saying that we dont have a role in MOE but our regulatory body supposed to be in MOH so that the bound of medical team will remain, but we have departed and we are now crying that are we not part of medical team? For this reason many States employ medical officers excluding EHO/EHT, even PHC board employed other medical cadres. It is pathetic that we are no more relevant in MOH. Thousands of graduates seeking and crying for employment... For instance in Lagos State one of the fear of SA on public health is that well run to MOE after emploment. Ill like to clarify something that there is difference between Environmentalis t And Environmental Health Officers, i stand to be corrected. The most painful thing to me is that even in the ministry of Environment, Environmental Managers Association has sent a bill of an Act of Environmental managers Registration Council of Nigeria (EMRECON) to the federal house of Assembly which is similar to EHORECON Act, if you doubt me check the official website of National Assembly. Automatically if the bill is passed into an Act there will be a problem for our profession... Whats the way out ............... ............... This is my own humble opinion, thanks ............... ............... ............... ......Comrade Osho
