“The Prophecy concerning the coming of Jesus Christ” The Book of Psalms blesses our lives in so many ways. The Psalmist has told us of God’s greatness and His love, goodness and care that He provides to those who walk according to His commandments. The Psalms, also, tell us of the coming of Jesus Christ, in Psalm 118:22,23. “22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. 23 This is the Lords doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” The prophecy came true when Jesus Christ was sent to earth to save mankind from their sins. He became the Chief Cornerstone of the Kingdom of God -- the Church. Matthew 21:42 “42 Jesus saith unto them, ‘Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lords doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?’ “ Jesus is referring to Himself as the Chief Cornerstone and delivers a solemn warning to Israel in Matthew 21:43-45. “43 ‘Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.’ 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.” Jesus was speaking about the religious leaders of Israel who rejected Him and had Him crucified. Jesus came to His own people, the Jews, and they rejected Him. But God made it clear that Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, is the only way to heaven and eternal life. John 3:16-18 “16 ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.’ “ Jesus brought salvation not only to those in Israel who accepted Him, but also to all the nations of the earth. John 3:16,17; Acts 2; 1 Peter 2:1-10 In conclusion, God wants the best for us. God’s best comes through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, who died for us, so that our sins can be forgiven. He preached about the kingdom of God, in His earthly ministry, but the religious leaders rejected Him and they had Him crucified. His death, burial and resurrection secured our salvation. Speaking to Thomas, his disciple, “Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’ “ John 14:6 If you are a Christian Praise the Lord. If you are not a Christian God has made it clear what He wants you to do to become a Christian. God’s plan of salvation is found in the following Scriptures, John 3:16-18, Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 10:9,10, Acts 8:29-39, Acts 2:37-41. These Scriptures make it clear that believing in Jesus, confessing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, repenting of your sins, and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost is God’s plan of salvation. Seek out a Church that believes and practices what these Scriptures say, concerning becoming a Christian.
