The Puppy Rescue Mission, a national nonprofit that helps US - TopicsExpress

The Puppy Rescue Mission, a national nonprofit that helps US troops bring home dogs and cats that are their devoted companions during deployments in war zones, has helped our troops bring home more than 400 dogs and about 25 cats from Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Africa, and other locations across the globe. Every rescue mission is initiated by a military service member who writes for help getting his loyal “battle buddy” home from war. The Puppy Rescue Mission receives ongoing requests from deployed service members anxious to save their beloved dog or cat from a life of brutality if left behind when our troops leave. Currently, about 12 dogs are awaiting funds to start their trip home. Rescue costs vary depending on an animal’s size, but each dog costs roughly $4,000 to cover veterinary care and transportation from the field to an Afghan or Kuwaiti shelter and then home to USA. Supporters can learn more about the group’s work at thepuppyrescuemission.org and follow daily rescue updates on Facebook at facebook/puppyrescuemission
