The Quireboys @Racing Rocks: Statement The members of The Quireboys, and their management, cancelled their appearance at Racing Rocks on Friday 16 May at 5pm when it became clear that the promoters of the event would not be able to fulfil their agreed contractual obligations in relation to the appearance of The Quireboys at Racing Rocks. It had been clear on Friday 9 May that it was unlikely that The promoters of Racing Rocks would be able to meet the contracted obligations, however, The Quireboys management, and Agency, worked hard all week to resolve all the outstanding issues in order to ensure that the show would go ahead, however as the week went on it became obvious that the organisers of Racing Rocks were in no position to meet their obligations as contracted, which would have left The Quireboys and their crew in a serious predicament. As such, The Quireboys and their management were left with no alternative other than to cancel the performance, and hand all documents relating to the Racing Rocks event to their legal team in order to seek recourse. The organisers of Racing Rocks were advised to issue a statement to the effect that they had been unable to meet their contracted obligations, and therefore The Quireboys would not be performing, however they failed to make this statement, leaving The Quireboys with the task of making this statement. The Quireboys, Management, and Agent, wholeheartedly apologise to anyone who attended Racing Rocks hoping to see The Quireboys perform, and would advise anyone who purchased a ticket for the sole purpose of seeing The Quireboys that they should contact Racing Rocks on 01246 900991 to request a refund
