The Raindrops had 5 singles chart in the years 1963 and 1964. Who were The Raindrops? Basically (then) husband and wife, Brill Building songwriters Elle Greenwich and Jeff Barry. It started when Jubilee decided to release demo the duo had recorded of the song What a Guy, a tune Barry had written for The Sensations. The group is pictured as a trio, the third member was Greenwichs sister Laura, who did not sing on the records. Live appearances were not always done by Elle Greenwich and Barry, usually the trios live appearances were done by mixing and matching Elle Greenwich, demo singer Beverly Warren, Barry or Bobby Bosco. Sometimes Laura Greenwich would do a live appearance and sing into a dead mic. One problem The Raindrops faced is they found themselves competing with other groups on their best material. The Raindrops and the Greenwich-Barry marriage both ceased to exist around 1965. This song was the groups highest charting tune, reaching #17 in 1963.
