The Rolling Stones - report Rolling Stones Voice Support for Mick Jagger Mick Jaggers bandmates in The Rolling Stones are voicing moral support for their frontman following the death of his longtime girlfriend, model-turned-fashion designer LWren Scott. No-one saw this coming, said guitarist Keith Richards in a newly released statement. Micks always been my soul brother and we love him… were thick as thieves and were all feeling for the man. Richards goes on to say the Stones are sorry to disappoint fans in Australia and New Zealand, where a series of concerts had been set for this week, but since postponed. We’ll see everyone really soon, he promised. Guitarist Ronnie Wood and drummer Charlie Watts echoed Richards in their support for Jagger. This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time, said Wood, a member of the Stones since 1975. Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can. Watts, who has known Jagger for more than 50 years, also said his first priority was to be there for his friend. Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time, he said. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible. Scott was found dead Monday morning in her Manhattan apartment of an apparent suicide. An investigation is underway. Jagger and Scott had dated since 2001, and the designer had done work on costumes for the Stones 50th anniversary tour in 2013. Following a brief statement Monday that he was completely shocked and devastated by the news, Jagger released a longer statement Tuesday: I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her, Mick
