The Royal Exchange Theatre will be holding auditions on Tuesday July 30th 2013 for Actors who are local to the North West and who sing well. These will be short meetings on the Royal Exchange Theatre main stage with the Royal Exchange Theatre Casting Department (Jerry Knight-Smith and Polly Jerrold) and a pianist, Malcolm Forbes-Peckham. Our aim is to between our knowledge of actors in our region who sing well. Although we will be casting musical projects in the near future, for the purposes of this day we won’t have any specific casting in mind. We will ask you to bring two songs (with sheet music) to sing that challenge you and demonstrates your range. At least one should be sung in your own accent. To be clear, these meetings are for actors permanently based within 30 miles of our theatre. That is to say those who pay their council tax within this radius rather than those who have a second base in the region. Please include your postcode when contacting us. If we already know your singing (you may have had an audition for Sweeney Todd or another musical piece recently) then we wouldn’t of course need to meet you on this occasion. We are only able to meet 30-40 actors on this occasion so this will be a very selective process.
