The Sandstorm Electronic experience was aimed to promote unity and push amongst local talents to showcase individuality, specific skill sets, performance, and legitimacy as an electronic artist. We focused on revealing local artists as the front and meat of this event to tell the world that we are ready as a country to be on an international level. The vision was to unite everyone in the circuit and the DJ industry, may you be underground, commercial, casual, professional, and everything in between. SoFamiliar productions was to head this event as its Producer, and Wildlife together with Trance Til Dawn came up with this vision to co-present the event. As all plans were etched, we have come to a clear understanding on how this event was supposed to be run, how it was supposed to achieve our vision as a group. Unfortunately, So Familiar productions did not come clean with its duties, and obligations, promise and bond with us as the head producer. There were decisions made without Wildlife and Trance Til Dawn’s knowledge that eventually led the to the event’s demise towards our brothers and sisters in the industry. There were decisions regarding the dynamics of the performance that was tampered with, marketing issues, logistic issues, and agreements with our partners that have been kept from us. Wildlife and Trance Til Dawn came in as an industry partner in this project due to our familiarity with events as well as our personal relationships with these artists. So Familiar was to come in as our funding and venue. We were very clear on the division on obligations and duties. We later on found out during the actual event that a lot of these agreements have not been met. A lot of reckless and damaging decisions have been done without us knowing which lead to a lot of talents not being taken care off, partners not remitted, schedules moved, time slots cancelled, accommodations not taken care, and talent fees delayed. We have been kept in the loop regarding the status of funding and everything relevant to this event but alas, come event day, it was all a fraud. Jacob So, the head of So Familiar Productions is nowhere to be found. All this mishap was dropped last minute on our shoulders which we are painstakingly trying to fix and set things right with all our friends in the industry. We very well know that an apology will NOT fix anything, but we are definitely hoping that it is a start, to make things right with everyone.
