“The Savior of the World: Jesus Calls His Disciples” What a fishing story! Today, we consider the miraculous catch of fish in the Sea of Galilee. And it didnt come about because of Simon Peters fishing expertise and experience. He and his fishing partners had toiled all night, with no success. Then Jesus told Simon Peter to do the unreasonable--cast his nets into the deep water in the heat of the day. Although he was reluctant to do so, Peter obeyed the Lord, and the result was amazing! The boats were so full of fish that they almost sank! But the real catch wasnt the fish. That catch was a preview of an even greater catch that would happen as Christ works through His disciples to fish for people. As we invite people to know Jesus, we can trust that Jesus will miraculously catch others in the nets of His salvation. Just think of the fishing stories we will have to share in heaven!
