The Scripture of the Day is: Ruth 2:7 And she said, - TopicsExpress

The Scripture of the Day is: Ruth 2:7 And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Glean; to collect by patient effort; to gather the leavings from a field after the crop has been reaped. Ruth had requested to glean after the reapers; and she had spent the day trying to find some “leftovers”. When I was a single mom, there were many times that the purchase of groceries was a hardship and sometimes an impossibility; but we never went hungry. Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi, were depending on what Ruth could glean for their sustenance; so she was diligent in her efforts. As Christians, we need to have a gleaning mentality. We need to patiently seek to collect all the knowledge of God that we can find. When we enter a church service, watch a minister on TV or in our daily living, we need to put our minds in “glean mode” so that we may receive from the Lord. I have prayed many times that the Lord would help me to be a receiver from some part of the service; whether it be a song, testimony or something from the preached Word; this is a gleaning mentality. God honored Ruth’s efforts; the owner of the field told the reapers to drop some extra for her to glean. If we will patiently show effort to be spiritually filled, God will see that we have some extra. Ruth’s efforts paid off; and she became the wife of the owner of the field. If we will spiritual glean, God will bless beyond our expectations. Instead of grumbling about her circumstances, Ruth gleaned and became the reaper of benefits beyond her expectations. Let us become gleaners that God will cause us to reap in due season, if we faint not. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Father thank you that you make provision for our needs; and that you bless us beyond our expectations. Help us to glean from your Word and from this life; that we might gain knowledge and wisdom to over come the enemy. We submit our lives to you this day; we ask for your will to be done; on earth as it is in heaven. We ask these things in the name of your Son, Jesus, AMEN. P.S. In these last days that we are living we need to get as much of the word as possible. If any of you have a ladies group at your church or Bible study that you would like to have a guest speaker, I would be anxious in the Lord to come and speak for you. You may contact me at this email address. Maranatha!
