The Scroll and the Lamb - Revelation 5. 1. And I saw in the right hand of the One Who sits upon the throne (1 Ki. 22:19, Isa. 6:1, Ezek. 1:26,27, Ps. 47:8, 2 Chr. 18:18) a scroll that had been written within and on the back,4 (Isa. 29:11, Ezek. 2:9,10) and had been sealed with seven seals. 2. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break its seals and to open the scroll?” 3. And no one in heaven and no one on earth and no one under the earth was able to open the scroll and to see it. 4. And I was weeping copiously, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and to see it. 5. And one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look! He was victorious, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, (Gen. 49:9,10) the Root of David, (Isa. 11:1) so He can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
