The Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan immigration - TopicsExpress

The Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill. And all indications are that if it were brought up in the House, it would pass there as well. But John Boehner is refusing to bring it up in the House, unless a majority of Republicans approve. ***Even though it almost certainly would pass with a majority of total members.*** This is outrageous. If Republicans disagree with the bill, it’s certainly their right to vote against it. But they should at least have the guts to hold a vote in the first place. Boehner’s insistence on majority support from his party is a slap in the face of democracy, and yet another example of House Republicans putting petty partisan interests above the needs of the nation. Send John Boehner a message, and demand he hold an up-or-down vote on the immigration reform bill.
