The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce an historic event for our agency took place this morning. Assistant Sheriff Randall Walker performed the ceremonial Oath of Office and family members pinned the badge on the uniform of their newest member of the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Flight Paramedic Mark Burbank was sworn-in to work with the helicopter unit. His position as flight paramedic is vital to the continued service we provide to the community with Henry 1. We are also very proud to promote Alan Espinosa to Cook in the Detention Division. His years of experience and dedication to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is admirable. What made today’s ceremony unique was the hiring of seven female Correctional Deputies for the Detention Division. Tena Worku, Jenna Reed, Azuzena Alvarez, Katie Clark, Alicia Reeves, Lori Speer and Courtney Roualdes are the Correctional Deputies who joined our ranks today. This is the most women sworn-in at the same time in the history of the Sheriff’s Office. These women are among the 14 who have been hired this year and there are 13 highly qualified female applicants in the background process now for the position of Correctional Deputy. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has made a concerted effort to recruit and hire exceptional personnel for the various positions throughout the agency. Congratulations and welcome one and all.
