The Spay-Neuter Commuter took place this week on May 21 and 22. The number of pets altered was 37, which puts our total since we began the program at 872. We have had many people thank us for offering this low-cost option for spay-neuter. We are proud to be able to offer it. I want to say a very sincere thank you to our volunteers who show up before 7 a.m. on Wednesday and again on Thursday at 9 a.m. to help me with this important program. While Angie and I do the paperwork, Jeanette answers questions for people, Delmar works traffic, and Sharon, Joyce and Janet get pets into carriers if owners dont have adequate crates. Ashley and I make all of the appointments prior to Transport day, which can be a very time-consuming job. She and Paul also help with the pets. I also appreciate Planned Pethood in Greensboro for partnering with us for this program. George, the driver, waits patiently while we finish processing everything on Wednesday, and is back with our precious cargo on Thursday. Many thanks to everyone. (Becky Everhart, Spay-Neuter programs Coordinator)
