The Speckled, Spotted, and Black Sheep † Jacob said, You shall not give me anything. If you will do this for me, I will again pasture your flock and keep it: let me pass through all your flock today, removing from it every speckled and spotted sheep and every black lamb, and the spotted and speckled among the goats, and they shall be my wages. Genesis 30:31–32 ESV There are many parallels between Jacob and Jesus, like the angels ascending and descending Jacob’s ladder which is what Jesus told Andrew that he would see. Jacob went away poor but later returned blessed, as Jesus is doing. Like Jacob, Jesus seeks the speckled, the spotted, and the black sheep as His wages. He said the healthy have no need of a physician, and that He came to seek and save the lost. Know today that if you are the black sheep, or the speckled, the spotted, the underdog, that the Lord Jesus Christ accepts you just as you are. He is seeking you out because His payday is coming and the speckled, spotted and black sheep belong to Him. Jesus loves you so much that He traded His life for yours! :)
