The Spectrum of Memories by Yongrae Kwon!! “I am fascinated by light. Light, a form of energy that precedes material, approaches me as a great wonder. I aspire my works to hold and express light – not a drawing or a photograph of light, but light itself. Is not the history of art merely the history of men attempting to find light? After all, art, culture, and even the men themselves who create art and culture are made up of ‘light.’ I want my artwork to hold and express light -- not a drawing or a photograph of light, but light itself. In my work, the cold stainless steel collects and reflects the light struck from above, producing a dynamic illusion on the canvass. The illusion resembles that of stained glass windows installed in medieval chapels.
