The “Sporting Snippets Hall of Fame” Down Area Chairman Ian Frazer supplies the in-put for this week’s nomination - Andrew Rodgers (aka Coach) joined Comber YM in 1998 and started playing as a central midfielder but took up a role in any required position for both first and second team when called upon. Andrew has also assisted with the Management of both teams before and during his role as Club Secretary between 2010- 2013. During his time as Secretary he used his skills as a Project Manager to drive the Club forward both on and off the pitch and is still actively involved with the Committee assisting with the running and development of the Club. Andrew was elected to the Down Area Winter Football League Committee in 2011 and was subsequently appointed League Secretary in 2012 and still currently holds that position. Andrew continues to provide a superb service to the DAWFL arranging meetings, booking venues, organising and delivering training as well as assisting all the Clubs with thoughtful and practical advice. Andrew’s keen organisational skills, his careful attention to detail and his faculty for structure and sensitivity made him an ideal Administrator for the “Sporting Snippets Facebook Page” and his responsive and perceptive handling of the duties in that role have made him an essential part of the controlling team. He is a credit to Comber YM, the Down Area Association and local football in general and is a deserving and laudable addition to the “Sporting Snippets” Hall of Fame.
