The Springfield Fire Department Bomb Squad is currently on scene at U.S.Bank, 417 E. St. Louis Street, investigating an unattended bag left there. The entire block has been evacuated, including employees of U.S. Bank and the Discovery Center of Springfield. In general, the Bomb Squad investigates all reports of unattended bags, but because of the proximity to a bank, there is a heightened sense of concern. Media at the scene are asked to remain behind a barricade in front of the Gillioz Theatre for their own safety.
