The Sri Thendayuthapani Temple along Tank Road is the latest - TopicsExpress

The Sri Thendayuthapani Temple along Tank Road is the latest addition to our list of National Monuments. The temple was established in 1859 by the Chettiar community, who have contributed significantly to our nations development. The temple is also culturally significant as the end point of the annual Thaipusam procession. In fact, the temple has been organising the procession and celebrating this festival for more than a hundred years! I hope more Singaporeans will discover and learn about our National Monuments. These are special markers of our shared memories and history. They are a vital part of our Singapore Story, having stood testament to our nation’s journey through independence, survival, and progress.
