Even if one rejects the Bible as evidence of His existence, the research of the many independent secular accounts of Jesus of Nazareth, resoundingly concludes he was in fact a real historical person. ‘These independent accounts prove that in ancient times even the opponents of Christianity never doubted the historicity of Jesus, which was disputed for the first time and on inadequate grounds by several authors at the end of the 18th, during the 19th, and at the beginning of the 20th centuries. The result of the examination of the sources out side of the new testament that bear directly or indirectly on our knowledge of Jesus is to confirm his historical existence of the movement after His death at the hands of the Roman governor in Jerusalem, and the penetration of Christianity into the upper strata of society in Rome itself by the later first century. - Howard Clark Kee - Boston University.
