The Story of the TV that Couldnt Swim by Kevin James Kelley - Grade Eleventy. I have 3 favorite sports teams. The Los Angeles Dodgers (of Los Angeles), the Los Angeles Kings of the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, and mi corazon, Notre Dame. I also have a favorite television set, Samsung. On many past adventures, my TV was always by my side for most viewings of my 3 favorite teams. Oddly enough, in the background was also my 2nd favorite swimming pool. Never quite always knowing the yearning that Samsung had always, secretly wished to swim. So, along comes November 29th, 2014. A fine day in my life, one full of promise. Vin Scullys birthday, the Irish in town, and the Kings playing the Blackhawks later that same day. So, with Tuesday being my favorite wifes birthday, I suggested wouldnt it be a great birthday present for you to go see the Irish AND the Kings play in the same day! She reminded me how much she hates football (I had forgotten since Thursday), but she loves the Kings so she reluctantly agreed to agree that YES, in fact it would be a great birthday present... If this were in May... Somewhere around the 5th... But I digress. So, with my favorite son named Jacksen Kelley in tow... We ventured out to the friendly confines of the Los Angeles Coliseum with our Irish on and the quick change Kings gear in the car. Well, after the Irish narrowly lost by 35 to that team that shall remain nameless, and the Kings lost in a not so good game way to the team it beat in WCF last year, in 7 games, on their own ice and went on to win the aforementioned Stanley Cup, but I digress again. We got home about 11pm, and ate pie. This morning, I looked up on the Internet and learned that in fact, Samsung CANT swim. So, thanks to me being such a thoughtful and giving husband on my favorite wifes birthday present, I was not able to let Samsung swim yesterday.... Only to learn, this morning, that I actually saved its life by not teaching it to swim like I did with my kids by just throwing it in the pool, and am now, ergo a hero, too. #selfless
