The Stray Cat Saga has come to a happy end. Tried every no-kill - TopicsExpress

The Stray Cat Saga has come to a happy end. Tried every no-kill cat rescue in the area and the best we got is If you still have him in four weeks we can take him. Theyre just swamped (SPAY AND NEUTER, PEOPLE!) Took the little guy to the vet for a checkup. Learned that, thankfully, he has no viruses, leukemia or FIV. Just earmites and the feline equivalent of a bad case of the flu. Also learned that the rescue agency that caught and neutered him...um...missed one during the neutering process. Our wonderfully frank vet told us that guinea pigs and cats never mix well no matter what the interweb stories say. This, coupled with a vet techs story of how her cat permanently mutilated one of her guinea pigs really cinched the fact we could keep him. So, after getting him some antibiotics and treatment for his ears, we convinced a kind, pet-loving neighbor to take the little guy in. And all this during the most stressful segment of our move. Farewell, Hobbes. Youre a very cute little feline, but I gotta say you need to work on your timing. ;)
