The Surfs Up album was released 42 years ago yesterday. Til I Die was one of the few songs in which both the words and music were written solely by Brian - a masterpiece. Said Brian: I struggled at the piano, experimenting with rhythms and chord changes, trying to emulate in sound the oceans shifting tides and moods as well as its sheer enormity.
