The TEXAS GYPSIES are coming to Hutchinsons Historic Fox Theatre on Friday, October 10th. This is going to be a fantastic show featuring stellar musicians! If you enjoy Western Swing, Gypsy Jazz, New Orleans music, or just a stage full of incredible talent, this show promises to be a great evening of live entertainment. The Texas Gypsies original songs have been featured on radio, television, and film. In 2005 their debut album “The Texas Gypsies” was in the running for a Grammy for “Best Jazz Album”. They were voted the #1 act at the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival in 2006 and the Academy of Western Artists has named them “Best Western Swing Group”. Bandleader Steve Curry has toured or recorded with a diverse roster of artists including the Jacksons, Boney James, and Jeff Buckley. Violinist Brook Wallace has Kansas connections as the first place winner of the Walnut Valley Old Time Fiddle Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival in 2007. Other band members include Mike Sizer on saxophone and clarinet, Andrew Griffith on drums, and John Hewitt on bass and vocals. All members of the Texas Gypsies are award-winning musicians and masters of their art. They are sure to have the crowd on their feet and swingin’ in the aisles throughout the performance.
