The Top 5 Metal Albums of 2001: #5) Hollenthon – “With Vilest of Worms to Dwell”: Metal is no stranger to incorporating elements of other non-Metal genres; medieval, classical, national folk music to name just a few. Hollenthon is a great example of this. They incorporate a truly unique mix of musical elements with a somewhat unorthodox style of Melodic Death Metal to create a style all their own. Each of their 3 studio albums, in this sense, are unique from one another. This album is emotive without embracing clichés or platitudes, and in every sense this album can be called “heavy.” No doubt a future underground classic deserving of a Top 5 spot for 2001.
