The Training and Placement Cell, Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University organised a workshop on “Career Planning and Interview Techniques” in collaboration with the Training and Placement Office (General), AMU. The workshop was presided over by Professor Shabahat Husain, Chairman, Department of Library and Information Science, AMU. Professor Husain said that integrity and honesty together hold key to success. He gave a picture of breathtaking vocalizations of the selection committees and the questions faced by an interviewee. Professor Husain also presented some of the interesting ideas to prepare for an interview and the techniques adopted to face the same. Mr Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer (General), AMU and the Chief Guest of the occasion highlighted the recent activities of the TPO (General) and the various strategic success points in qualifying and quantifying for different competitive careers. He emphasized on positive attitude and focused approach in targeting the aims and ambitions. Dr Naushad Ali P M, In-charge, Training and Placement Office (TPO), Department of Library and Information Science gave a brief draft of the TPO of the Department and emphasized the importance of Career planning. He mentioned some of the recent studies conducted on career planning and pointed out that motivation act as the main drive to success for life long careers. Dr Naushad portrayed the strategic and structured ways of fulfilling the dreams of life. Ms Saba Hussain, student coordinator proposed the vote of thanks whereas Ms Areeba Touseef conducted the programme.
