The Tranquille Sanatorium and The Tunnel community in Kamloops - TopicsExpress

The Tranquille Sanatorium and The Tunnel community in Kamloops BC In 1907, the expansive Tranquille Sanatorium, a mini, self-sustaining community, opened to treat tuberculosis patients; then became a mental hospital before closing for good in 1983. A series of underground tunnels run under the decaying, crumbling complex. Today, frequent sightings of glowing orb and paranormal activity have earned it a reputation as one of Canada’s most haunted places. Until the facility closed in 1985, the 2.4-metre tall, 2.4-metre wide passageways were used to deliver food, transport goods and even bodies between the sites buildings. The tunnels were also crucial to the hospitals laundry service, which processed 682 kilograms of textiles a day for several health-care facilities including Royal Inland Hospital. But the underground space includes more than just hallways. It was more like a small village. While investigating, Tranquille Farm staff discovered a series of rooms including a barbershop, storerooms, dining halls and even a morgue. According to records, about 1,600 mostly young patients died of tuberculosis on the premises. This location was even featured on an MTV series called Fear The visitors of this show spoke of ghostly childrens voices and sightings of orbs of light. This is now one of the most popular Haunted Canadian tourists attractions so if youre ever in Kamloops, check it out! Its pretty darn freaky! ~Macaria~ xx
