The Trenches Geography is a verdict - said Napoleon Bonaparte. Geographical location of Latvia has always been in the way of invaders moving from Western Europe towards Russia. The same concerns Napoleons military expedition. As well as the time of the 1st and 2nd World Wars. The land of Latvia is still preserving the scars of those wars: trenches, trench shelters, shell craters. Every year enthusiasts find in Latvian woods the remains of the soldiers, who lost their lives in those severe battles. Many of them have been found. However, thousands of warriors are still lying deep in the earth at the bottom of trenches in thick Latvian forests.
