The Turkish Gov’t has (or intends to) ban You Tube because an incriminating tape has been posted in which several military and government officials discuss a plan to instigate an attack on Syria – ostensibly to distract the public from the current troubles faced by the ruling party and Prime Minister. (Right out of the Geo W. Bush Playbook) Like the failed attempt to shut down Twitter, this latest draconian effort will fail – indeed may already have. There are numerous sites that will carry the tape – one even has English language subtitles. What’s most odd is that the so-called Communications “Directorate” doesnt seem to know much about Communications 101. (1-the “ban” actually publicizes the tape, and makes it even more a matter of curiosity to those who might otherwise not care (like their supporters). (2- The ban only applies inside Turkey. You Tube and the well-publicized tape are now out in … duh, the entire World. (except of course N. Korea, Turkmenistan and a few others AK seems bent on keeping comanğy with) Furthermore, I wonder how the AK’s supporters who have sons or daughters in the Turkish Military will respond to one of the member’s suggestions that to provoke a war with Syria, they should be prepared to “fire on our own troops.” Excuse my language but, are you shitting me???? That’s not loyalty to the PM or the Party and certainly not thr Republic. That’s sedition. (isyana teşvik)
