The Twelve BASICS one by one #2… Passionately love God and Others… The following is a series of twelve writings on the subject of the BASICS… Believers Acquiring Spiritual Insights and Character Scripturally…. Passionately love God… Jesus was asked: Master, which is the great commandment in the law (The Mosaic Law)? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love (This is not human love or affection that is greatly conditional upon being reciprocated, but this is God’s love that is unconditional and uniquely sacrificial. Such love is not found in the natural man’s heart, but is received, by faith, as a gift from God, Who is love, and expressed such love through the Spirit whose characteristic of His fruit is one of such spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural love.) the Lord thy God (Our Saviour Jesus Christ is both our Supreme LORD and Sovereign God, for He is the very expression of God the Father both in heaven and earth.) with all thy heart (thoughts and feeling), and with all thy soul (the inner most being), and (In Luke 10:27 the writer inserted or included “with all thy strength” or ability, power.) with all thy mind (the disposition or understanding of the mind). This is the first and great commandment. (If a believer, by faith, focused on consistently practicing passionately loving the LORD their God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind every other spiritual and scriptural responsibility and reality would fall into place for this is the first and great commandment.) Matthew 22:36-38 We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind not only because we are commanded by the LORD Jesus Christ, but because He first loved us and continues to faithfully love us in spite of our sinful selves: 1John 4:10; 19 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (the satisfactory payment) for our sins. We love him, because he first loved us. We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind by realizing that the LORD Jesus Christ died for us: Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind by realizing that nothing can separate us from His love towards us: Romans 8:35-39 (35) Who (or what) shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter (37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind by seeking to obey His Word, the Scriptures, for Jesus said: If ye love me, keep (practice) my commandments. John 14:15 We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind by surrendering to the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of the living God that indwells us: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 We must love the LORD our God, by faith, with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind that we might abound in His grace, which is His underserved and unmerited favor, goodness, or blessings: Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:24 We must NOT let our love for the LORD our God grow cold because of iniquity abounding, for the LORD has warned of such: Jesus said, And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12 Passionately love others: The LORD Jesus Christ goes unto say, And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:39 (The LORD Jesus Christ clearly gives us a scriptural measure of that which it is to love thy neighbor for loving others is equated with loving thy self or a He said in another text: Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12) • To love thy neighbor is to also love thy enemy: Matthew 5:44 • To love thy neighbor is to love the brethren (other believers): John13:34-35 • To love thy neighbor is to love one’s wife as Christ loved the Church: Ephesians 5:25-29 • To love thy neighbor is to receive such love, by faith, through asking for it: Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. • To love thy neighbor is to walk in the Spirit bearing one aspect of the fruit of the Spirit, which is love: Galatians 5:16, 22 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit… But the fruit of the Spirit is love… • To love thy neighbor is to love as described in the following text of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (4) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; (7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (8) Charity never faileth… • To not love thy neighbor or others is not know God for God is love… 1John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Now therefore, if one is to passionately love God and others, one must repent towards God of anything that hinders such relationships unto exercising faith unto the LORD Jesus Christ living His resurrected life of love in and through the believer towards our LORD God and others regardless of who they are. When such repentance towards God and faith towards the LORD Jesus Christ significantly and sincerely, as well as spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally occurs the believer will be compelled, by the Spirit, to be reconciled towards God and others by humbling oneself before God and man as a servant of love towards God and man, for the glory of God, His spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural manifestation. By the way if you truly want revival in your local church teach the brethren consistently to practice the BASICS and you got a revival started. I am available for such revival emphasis being preached in your local church. Just let me know of your interest and the LORD’S leadership. Please pray for the H.O.P.E.
