The UN Secretary Generals Climate Summit kicked off at 8 am in New - TopicsExpress

The UN Secretary Generals Climate Summit kicked off at 8 am in New York today. UNDP has been leading the action stream on forests: the New York Declaration on Forests will be unveiled this afternoon. Last night, UNDP hosted the Equator Prize Awards Ceremony at the Lincoln Centre in New York. The evening honoured 25 indigenous and local communities who are thinking globally and acting locally by working for sustainable development in their home areas. It was an inspiring evening. The story below is about the effects of climate change on an island in Papua New Guinea. See my speech opening the Forests Pavilion this morning below too.
