The United Nations event “The Challenge of Declining Ice, Glaciers and Snow and How We Can Respond To It- Impact on Fresh Water Resources, Natural Hazards, Livelihoods and Ecosystems” was held at UN Headquarters in New York on 31 May, 2013. It was organized by Vox Naturae, the Global Water Partnership and International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), the Permanent Missions of Finland, Hungary, Tajikistan and Thailand- the members of the Steering Committee of the Water Friends Group, the World Bank, and World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
