The Uplifting Word/Revelation 1. John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day on the Isle of Patmos in exile for preaching the Word of God & for his testimony about Jesus. He heard a loud voice saying”write in a book” everything you see & send it to the seven churches in Ephesus, Smyria,Pergamum,Thyatira,Sardis, Philadelphia & Laodicea. 9-11. He saw 7 gold lamp stands & Jesus standing in the middle,wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. His head & hair were white like wool,as white as snow. And his eyes were flames of fire. His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace & his voice thundered like ocean waves. He held 7 stars in his right hand & a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance. 12-16. When John saw him, he fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his hand on John & said,”Don’t be afraid! I am the first & the last. I am the living one, I died, but look I am alive forever & ever! And I hold the keys of death & the grave. Write down what you see both now & things that will happen. The stars are the angels of the seven churches & the seven gold lamp stands are the seven churches.17-20.
