The Vinton Ward have been active in their own simplex net. The Vinton Unit Emergency Communication Team (VUECOMM TEAM) have been routinely carrying out a scheduled net on Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM. This net is held on a frequency of 145.000 MHz (simplex) on the 2 meter band. Participants are: KJ4ULZ (Mark), KK4EZD (Jo), KJ4UMB (Dave), KJ4CGP (Paul), KJ4CGL (Harry), KJ4ZJY (Linda), two third-party participants (via kj4ulx with Gordon and via kk4ezd with Jimmy) and myself as net control station WG4GW (Gary)!!! We would like all other units to develop and maintain their own simplex net. If you need help, contact me and I will help get you going. Its a great way to find out the capabilities of contacts throughout your areas and check your equipment at the same time, not to mention the fun you have while playing on your radios. Gary WG4GW
