The Voice of the Millennium turns 85. witnessing these golden moments...... The entire Shanmukhanand Auditorium awaited the curtain to be set aside to see that simple lady always in a saree with her melodious voice captivating the hearts of thousands & millions around the globe.Though, sadly, she was unable to attend her felicitation due to her health reasons, her aura & presence were felt by everyone present in the Hall through the special unforgettable memories shared by her younger brother, Pt. Hridayanath Mangeshkar & the one whom she fondly admires & who himself is a huge fan of her songs...Sachin Tendulkar! The evening even marked the celebration of 60 glorious years of musical contribution by Panditji. The second half mesmerized the audience by eternal bhajans Chala Wahi Des (Lets Go to that Land...) of Sant Meera Bai, a committed devotee of Lord Krishna. The Hall was enthralled by the ballet tribute to the two legends by kathak maestro Shama Bhate. Shama tai & her troupe left everybody awestruck by their moves depicting the sublime expression of Sant Meera Bai, an epitome of Madhura Bhakti. Wishing Lata Didi a happy birthday & praying for her speedy recovery.........
