The WAF world championship will not take place in Las Vegas as was originally agreed up but will be in Malaysia instead. This is due to the fact that stipulations were added to the original agreement after the US won the bid and reached an agreement. These bully tactics hopefully will not be overlooked by armwrestlers, American or otherwise. A lot of newer athletes might not remember a time when armwrestlers felt a sense of pride from winning their national title and representing their country but it used to be a big deal. This will probably be overlooked as people have become too concerned with money and how they look for the cameras. Armwrestling was always an individual sport but somehow escaped being a sport for the self-serving. It is an unfortunate commentary on a society where people feel a need to apologize for being American that we can no longer feel accomplished for competing at a world event for our country and have grown so apathetic to allow a man on a power-trip to strip our country (or any country) of the honor of hosting a world event. This shouldnt just outrage American competitors as all will be affected by these tactics in the future. It would be a sad (but perhaps expected) state of affairs if this action does not outrage anyone at all.
