The Walk For Respect is less than a week away, what should you - TopicsExpress

The Walk For Respect is less than a week away, what should you expect? First, make sure you’re wearing something bright and if you’ve got a drum, bring it along. There will be a sign making stall at the assembly area, so give some thought to what you want to say. The walk will begin with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony and we’ll step-off to the music of the first Australians. As we progress towards Parry Park we’ll pass traditional drumming groups from the many cultures that make up our multicultural community. Each group will join the walk and drum to a single synchronised beat with instruments from around the World to represent the harmony in which we all live together. At Parry Park there will be some quick speeches followed by a family BBQ, live music and face painting for the kids. This is not an angry protest; it is a family friendly walk for harmony and respect. It’s going to be a great family day out in support of an important cause. If you can make it, please don’t forget to RSVP at againsthate.au. Look forward to seeing you there.
