The WebCup is an annual competition open to both professionals and students. You may participate as an individual or in a team and must within 24 hours (non–stop) develop a website based on a theme to be revealed at the start of the competition. After 24 hours, the websites will be presented to a jury and the respective winner will take home an attractive prize. Moreover, the winner will also qualify for the grand final to be held in La Reunion towards the end of the year. The competition will take place from 12 noon on Saturday 7th June to same time on Sunday 8th June, 2014, on a non-stop basis ! Same day, same time, same theme, the WebCup will be held simultaneously in all 6 Indian Ocean islands, namely: Mauritius, La Reunion, Madagascar, Comoros, Mayotte and Seychelles. Each island’s winning team will earn a place in the grand final to be held in La Reunion later in the year. The event is sponsored by VCS, Cable and Wireless, Switch, Maven and will take place at the CARE House in Victoria.
