The Weston FC Girls Program enjoyed a fantastic night at hosts Florida Atlantic University on Friday. The women Owls had designated their first Conference USA game against Charlotte a Weston FC night. Many teams attended and represented the club well in their blue polo shirts. Many girls from U8 through U18 joined the international walk-out with the teams, acted as ball girls throughout the game and scrimmaged on the field during the half-time break The game was won 1-0 by FAU and featured 3 Weston FC alumni freshmen: Sammy Lujan & Jennifer Ocampo for FAU & Martha Thomas for UNC Charlotte. Girls coach & U17-U18 age-group coordinator Judah Cooks said It was a great night for our present and former WFC players. We had a great showing in attendance from our U18s to U8s. Being able to watch a college soccer game of that level, which many of our girls aspire to be in the future, is exactly what we are looking for . To see Martha (UNC Charlotte), Samantha (FAU), and Jenn (FAU) up close competing the way they did in college was great for our girls and it was an experience that we hope to keep creating, as well as showing support for our local universities and programs.”
